From the very beginning, e-Brick has been committed to creating community service programmes aiming at providing adolescents from deprived backgrounds with access to technology.
We are currently developing two programmes:
- "Creative Bricks"
- "This is my Brick"
These two programmes are self-complementary and are delivered sequentially.
The “Creative Bricks” programme develops personal creativity using effective techniques to generate creative ideas and promoting innovation and lateral thinking. The acquisition of these creative skills will enable participants to put them into practice in their daily lives.
To this end, we will develop the following workshops: literature, cartoon design, drama, art and design.
“This is my Brick” consists of a series of workshops aimed at discovering several technological components that we encounter in our everyday lives. The purpose is to interpret how they work and to play with the way such components interact and operate. Some of the materials that will be used in these workshops range from temperature, movement and lighting sensors to stepper motors and 3d animation.
The ultimate goal is to construct a technological gadget as the final product of this creative team effort.
Both programmes are targetted at adolescents between 16 and 20 years old who are interested in developing their creativity and have a passion for technology.
The learning materials and the tuition fees are entirely funded by e-Brick.
We are currently working on these programmes and researching possible agreements with foundations to be able to deploy them.
